Artificial intelligence, AI, belongs to all of us: to the entire human species. Because it's the entire human species that made it possible for it to exist in the first place. It was trained on our art, our books, our paintings, our photography, our joy, and our pain. All of that collective cultural *stuff* was stolen from us all. Not one person has been paid for their contribution to it. Not one writer. Not one musician. Not one photographer. Not one scientist or mathematician. Not one. AI should belong strictly and solely to the public--to us. *Not* tech billionaires. *Not* corporations. *Not* even governments. *To us--directly.* With it we could fund Universal Basic Income for all. The code, the infrastructure, and 100% of the profits should belong to US, the people. Not to a handful of hateful white men with aims of global domination. These individuals will, I am convinced, be judged by our descendants as some of the most evil, most corrupt, most immoral human beings ever to exist. Sam Altmann. Elon Musk. Peter Thiel. Bill Gates. Eric Schmidt. Jensen Huang. Pure, unadulterated malevolence. And if it takes a French Revolution-style revolt to bring them down, so be it.
